According to this pretty 246GT’s much coveted Ferrari Classiche certification, 3042 was Delivered new to the UK’s Lovett’s of Marlborough in 1972 before making her way to sunny Australia circa 1977. 3042 was originally ordered in the very handsome Grigio Argento, with Pella Nera trim (Silver Grey with black trim).
I have no doubt every owner of 3042 has intended to remove the Giallo Fly for the original Grigio Argento, but fallen for such a pretty colour, on such a pretty chassis; I’m a bit smitten myself…
The Classiche notes the very desirable options of Daytona seats and enclosed headlights, along with the car being matching numbers. A multitude of loving, well documented owners and two comprehensive restorations, with a 1997 Ferrari Concours outright win to boot, mean 3042 looks every part the loved car.
